Fallout | Porcelain candle holder | Jez Rose, 2026

£45.00

Porcelain candle holder in a classic style.

Description:

The classic low, bowl shaped candle holder is a design synonymous with candles throughout history. Thrown on the wheel in porcelain and minimally trimmed, the candle sticks in Collection One represent the beginning of an exploration into the history of candlelight itself, and the human relationship with, in turn, the vessels that hold the candles.

Finished in an exclusive, studio-developed oak ash glaze with additional depth utilising rust from a 100+ year old horse shoe uncovered near an old stable yard in Rutland.

Particulars:

Material: Porcelain, wheel thrown in England

Size: H 3.7 W 9.9cm

Unique:

No two of our pieces are the same; intentional variations are part of what gives each object its character, provenance and individuality.

The marks of the maker, the subtle movement of a glaze and the small variations created by firing are evidence of how an object came into being - indeed, they are what make a handmade piece feel made, rather than manufactured.

While most of the objects we produce are designed to be lived with rather than simply displayed, perhaps the most successful objects are not those that continually ask to be noticed but are the ones we simply cannot imagine living without.
